Khenchen Pema Sherab with Tulku Pema Wangyal Rinpoche

We saw some wonderful fireworks last night at Leon sur Verze. Today we continued on with the teachings. I can’t say I was a very good vessel for the teachings, having missed out on sleep last night, but I managed to stay awake. After a nap I started trying to study (I’m so behind!) but A. and D. came over. Nonetheless, I did manage to read for perhaps twenty minutes, then when I walked into the dining room (on my way to the kitchen for coffee), well hello there was Tulku Pema Wangyal Rinpoche. What ensued was a very nice afternoon with Rinpoche, Khenpo, and A. and D.

  1. Who is Pema Wangyal Rinpoche? You said on my blog that you don't post much in India because every day is the same. Maybe you could post more about your lineage–it's teachers, history, unique features/practices, etc…. I'd love to learn more.

  2. Tulku Pema Wangyal Rinpoche was born in Tibet, and currently lives in France where he has been teaching for over thirty years. He heads the Association d’Etudes de Chanteloube (ACEC) which runs courses, seminars, short retreats and the traditional Three-Year Retreat. He is also the director of the Padmakara Translation Group.

Rinpoche is the son of Kyabje Kangyur Rinpoche and a close disciple of HIs Holiness Dudjom Rinpoche and His Holiness Dilgo Khyentse Rinpoche. He is recognized as a highly accomplished master, speaks excellent English and communicates the Dharma in a style which is traditional, yet always relevant to the modern world.

Some of Tulku Rinpoche’s teachings can be found here. (shabkar.org)

Rinpoche is an authentic master of the highest order. Every description you can find of what it means to be a qualified teacher is met by him. To be in his prescence is like basking in the warmth of the sun and awakening to the piercing cool of the moon at the same time. It is our great good fortune that we are on the planet at the same time as someone like him.
